ANNOUNCEMENTS
The rose in the chancel is a “peace rose.” It symbolizes our prayers for peace in a troubled world.
The chancel flowers are given by Nick Tucker and his son Cole, in loving memory their brother/uncle, Clark T. Tucker.
The lay reader today is Sandy Whiteley.
You are welcomed and seated today by John Betts, Eric Erickson, Jean Herbert and Sandy Whiteley.
The greeter this morning is Jean Herbert.
Thank you to Mark and Pam Daniels for hosting today’s coffee hour.
Thanks to Kingsley Day and Jane Soung for sharing their music with us today.
You are invited to join the virtual prayer circle at First Congregational Church. It is a wonderful way to develop a richer prayer life and stay connected to the needs of those in our congregation and around us. An e-mail is sent around weekly or so with a list of people to pray for and a suggested prayer for the week. If you are interested in being part of the church's virtual prayer circle or if you have a prayer concern you would like to offer up, please send a note to joysandconcerns@gmail.com. We want to respect privacy so we ask that you seek a person's permission before offering up their needs for prayer. We look forward to hearing from you! Pam Daniels, Prayer Circle Coordinator
Join the Parade. The CROP Walk Volunteers are making a small float to pull in the walk this fall. We are working on the papier mache and decorations each Sunday this summer after worship. The theme every year is We Walk Because They Walk. We are making large pieces of food and one-dimensional figures of children from around the world. Our church name and LOGO will also appear. A young man from Inter-Faith Action Council will be helping. You don't have to be an artist! Parents to help with construction activities and design, etc would be very welcome. Contact Laura Wilson with your ideas and Elmer’s glue.
Think Green! Check out our big, green frog in the Narthex for tips on conservation. How about using cloth bags instead of plastic when you go out shopping? Free tote bags with the frog. Faith and Public Issues
Our booth at the Evanston Street Fair needs volunteers on Friday July 27 and Saturday July 28 in downtown Evanston. Any donation of time between 10:00 a.m. to 2 p.m. will be helpful. We will be giving out information about our church and offering some children's games from the Plymouth Colony times. Any children in church today are welcome to come downstairs and make decorations for the booth. Contact Laura Wilson.
