ANNOUNCEMENTS
Welcome to First Congregational Church! We invite visitors to sign the Guest Book and join us for refreshments after worship. We also have an infant room, with a changing table, crib and comfortable rocker on the lower level. If you need those facilities during worship, an usher will be happy to escort you.
The rose in the chancel is a “peace rose.” It symbolizes our prayers for peace in a troubled world.
The chancel flowers are given by Steve and Laura Wilson in memory of Warren and Louise Wilson.
Thank you to Laura and Steve Wilson for hosting today’s Coffee Hour.
The lay reader today is Bob Phelps.
You are welcomed and seated today by Chris Julcher, Joe Page, Nick Tucker and Cherie Weil.
“Spiritual” was composed by Josh Hayden in honor of Charlie Hayden, his father, and Pat Metheny. We thank Paul and Ian Janicki for sharing this music with us today. In just a few weeks, Ian will begin his studies in architecture at USC in LA, and we send him with our best wishes as he continues his education.
Join the Parade. The CROP Walk Volunteers are making a small float to pull in the walk this fall. We are working on the papier mache and decorations each Sunday this summer after worship. The theme every year is We Walk Because They Walk. We are making large pieces of food and one-dimensional figures of children from around the world. Our church name and LOGO will also appear. A young man from Inter-Faith Action Council will be helping. You don't have to be an artist! Parents to help with construction activities anddesign, etcwould be very welcome. Contact Laura Wilson with your ideas and Elmer’s glue.
Think Green! Check out our big, green frog in the Narthex for tips on conservation. How about using cloth bags instead of plastic when you go out shopping? Free tote bags with the frog.Faith and Public Issues
