We are excited to announce that Laura Mueller will be joining us to present an informative educational and engaging lecture, Faith in Art. Join us for this Sunday Forum, March 2 after worship in Fellowship Hall (lower level of the sanctuary building).
Laura will begin with a brief introduction to the formal qualities of paintings and drawings—color, light and shadow (chiaroscuro), line, texture, composition, etc.--so that we have a common set of terms to use in discussing the images.
Christ made His resurrection known in various ways, perhaps appealing more to hearing and touch than to sight. But visual artists had to rely on sight alone to tell the story, developing a rich iconography of depictions of the events of Holy week. Join us as Laura shares paintings of Christ’s story.
