Outreach Team

Purpose

To provide opportunities to the Congregation for education and action on mission and outreach in our community and the broader world. In addition we also allocate benevolences, solicit ideas for new recipients and develop ideas for earning soft benevolence money.

Vision

Our vision is to create a church in which benevolence funding would be so important to the Congregation that they would support it with their pledges as a line item in the church’s annual budget.

Activities

  1. Provide opportunities and recruit members to participate in “hands on” mission projects in the surrounding community.
  2. Raise money to benefit the Benevolence Fund.
  3. Annual allocation of Benevolence Funds to qualified non profit agencies.
  4. Through the Faith and Public Issues committee, advocate for the powerless among us in areas of justice, poverty and the environment. Research and then educate the members so that they are knowledgeable on public issues related to Faith.

Who should be involved?

Anyone with a willingness to get involved and help others. Contact Betty Phillips to join the team.
