Our Denomination

The United Church of Christ is a progressive, mainline Protestant Christian denomination with roots in the Congregational and Reformed traditions. We are an inclusive and diverse community of Christians connected by faith that calls us to build a just world for all.

For more than 400 years, the United Church of Christ has been the church of firsts, weaving God’s message of hope and extravagant welcome with action for justice and peace. We are a church where Jesus the healer meets Jesus the revolutionary, and where together, we grow a just and peaceful world.

We believe in the triune God: Creator, resurrected Christ, the sole Head of the church, and the Holy Spirit, who guides and brings about the creative and redemptive work of God in the world. We believe that each person is unique and valuable. It is the will of God that every person belongs to a family of faith where they have a strong sense of being valued and loved
